Do you know how critical your brains is in creating your life?
If you did you would be relentlessly pursuing its brilliance to formulate the ‘great’ life?
Are magical breakthroughs in people’s lives being thwarted due to oblivion, non-enquiry or not really believing the neuroscience to be true? Heaven forbid it’s attitudinal – I know but I simply don’t care.
Why is so little attention (if any) given at school to educating how our brains work? It’s bordering on treason and conspiracy as one wonders about deliberate attempts to dumb-down the masses. We are expected to use our brain with scant guidance for how to unlock its potential.
Schooling thrives on logical and concrete thinking skills (facts, figures, evidence, processes) with little attention to recognising and encouraging the immense value of thinking abstractly. Abstract thinking is done through reasoning and understanding, reflecting on ideas, events and relationships in the absence of physical data.
Compare the two thinking skills for one observing a couple, Leah and Kaylieb, who are dating. A logical thinker will see them and surmise that they are in love. An abstract thinker would be thinking about their emotions, future commitments etc, all of which are essential ingredients for relationship success.
Abstract thinking and the intrigue of philosophical filtering will contribute towards optimising a healthier brain by providing greater peace of mind, even though you may not acquire certainty for everything you philosophise about.
If you want the best relationships you need to find what will give you the best. To get the most of what is ‘out there’ you must keep healthy what is ‘in there’ as every thought or idea stems from your brain and the brain-gut (axis) connection.
It always will be mind over matter – are you giving yourself the best chance?
